#RAISE THE AGE
Everyone knows children do best when they are supported, nurtured and loved. But Incarceration Nation shows how children as young as 10 are being put in prison. We must speak up to keep kids in community and #RaiseTheAge of criminal responsibility to 14.
– Sign the Raise The Age petition
– Write to your Premier or Chief Minister
We know that jailing is failing – it harms individuals, families and communities. But State and Federal Governments continue to pour billions of dollars into this racist system – it’s time to speak up for solutions and demand no new prisons.TELL YOUR MP TO INVEST IN SOLUTIONS NOT PRISONS
STOP STRIP SEARCHING ABORIGINAL KIDS
Right now, police are strip searching Aboriginal kids. It is unacceptable for children as young as 10 to be forced to remove their clothes in front of adults, especially without any parental and legal support present. Strip searches are intrusive and humiliating. The NSW Government has the power to legislate safeguards to protect Aboriginal kids. Together we can demand accountability to prevent unlawful strip searches by police, especially for those under the age of 18 years. Join the Aboriginal Legal Service campaign here:SIGN PETITION
